Best Concert Ever.

Something Corporate - Cooler than Karl's Grandma. Maybe.

Oh man, the concert was so awesome. First of all, I really like Something Corporate... there's something about their music that just really has a genuine feel to it. Second, the venue, the Ventura Theatre was awesome. For anyone who's been to the Fillmore in San Francisco, this place was like half the size (really small). The place had really good acoustics and there were like four levels of floor so that it was easy to see even when we were towards the back. Finally, since this was the shoot for their DVD, they played tons of songs. They played almost every one of their songs, including ones from their first and second albums, they even played "Konstantine"... probably one of the most beautiful songs of our time. Go download it, I promise you will think it's good too. Anyway, the concert was so fun because everyone in the band looked like they were as thrilled to be there as the audience. They weren't just performing, they were enjoying themselves. The lead singer, who also plays piano sounded great live, possibly better than on the albums. Man, I still can't believe who awesome it was. Oh, and when they came back for the two-song encore, they played "Walking By", another really touching song, which is from their EP. The second song-- they played the first half of "Drunk Girl" then they broke into- get this "Hey Ya" by Outkast. And they totally pulled it off sounding great. The lead singer was stagediving and dancing on the tops of the huge speakers. I am so glad I went. Can't wait until the DVD comes out, maybe I'll be in it. - not likely though =)
