Surprise!
I actually pulled one off!
I am the worst person ever at suprising people. I can never keep the secret if I'm the one planning the surprise. I always end up in a situation where I just tell the person because I can't figure out what to do. Like Mother's Day last weekend. I was going to go up to San Jose and surprise my mom by coming when I told her I was going to Temecula for the weekend. Once I got a house though, she really wanted to come look at the house and there was no other time that they could come down to see it. I ended up letting the cat out of the bag and they came down. Such is my history.
Until now! Jen always says "Come see me" on Thursdays nights, knowing well that I can't usually miss class on Fridays because I have homework to turn in and possible tests/quizzes. This week though, I decided I was going to actually come Thursday night to surprise her. I got all my homework done and turned in early, and made sure I won't miss anything important in my classes.
Today was the toughest, because it involved the most thinking on my feet. The five hour period while I was on the road (6pm-11pm) is a tough block of time to not talk to your girlfriend for. Especially when you always talk in the evenings. I pretended I had tons of hard EE homework to do and she believed me. But then around 10 or so, she was talking about going to bed before long. This would not do. I said I was almost done with EE and wanted to get it done before I relaxed and called her. This bought me 45 minutes. Unfortunately, I needed an hour. 10 minutes away from her house, she called me. Oh no. I should also mention that I had to get off the freeway every time she called, because the road noise would be way too obvious. I didn't get stopped in time to pick it up the first time, so she called me back a couple minutes later and sounded kinda mad that I hadn't picked up. I told her "I am super close to finishing, let me call you back in a few minutes."
With that I got back on the freeway, drove the few miles and got off. I parked a little ways from her house so she wouldn't see my car. When I called her I forgot to remember one key thing. Cell phone reception is terrible by her house. I told her about 4 times that I was standing in her driveway, but she didn't hear any of them. Once I finally got through though, she didn't believe me "No you're not! Really?"
Awesome. I am the surprise master.
By the way, Jen finally wrote about the wood-fiber lady in her LiveJournal. I highly suggest reading it. Also, I might get to meet the wood-fiber lady tomorrow if I go to work with Jen! How cool would that be?
One more thing, while I was in Marcos' room earlier I helped coach Kevin Roberts through his first game of Warcraft on battle.net on his new account. This is a new chapter in the life of Kevin Roberts. For those of you who don't have the privelege of knowing Kevin as I do, he played Warcraft (note: single player) for like 7 months of the last school year. Then, around May, we all started playing it, but he stopped, cuz he didn't think he was good at multiplayer. As you can see, he has faced his fears and he already has 5 wins from one day! Go Kevin go! Now it's time for us to fix your computer so you can play at home =P
Current Music: AFI - "Sing the Sorrow" Listened to the album like 10 times on the way down.
Link of the Day: Guy digs a hole in his backyard - Remind you of the good ol' days, Marcos?

You know, you could have called me in your big block of time driving down. if though i wouldnt have answered, it still would have killed a minute. Im not puttin my name anymore, cause everyone knows its me.
Dude, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but only 1 of those wins was mine. Marcos, being the pimp that he is, was playing on it so he could beat up on some noobie-ass players. So the wins aren't all mine, but at least I have the best account name ever!
