Blogging on location

From beautiful Palomar!

Jen has orientations today from 9am until like 6pm so I've been spending the day in Palomar's various non-class areas. The wireless in the library has gone out of whack, so I'm now in the computer lab, which is actually pretty decent.

I was in Irvine the last couple days hanging out with Karl. It was pretty cool metting some of the people he hangs out with there... usually when I'm there everyone is mysteriously gone. Finally I know that Karl knows more people there besides David. It was weird being away from Jen for even that long, considering most of the summer we have been apart for at most an hour or two.

My room seems so empty now... I guess I'd better get to work putting some cool stuff in there now that I have so much space. Not that it's welcome though... I would much rather have Jen with me in SLO than be stuck by myself in an empty room. Fortunately, by the time I start school she'll only have 4 weeks left of her health class.

I'm starting work this Thursday at 8am (ack!). I guess I'll have to learn to be a morning person, cuz usually I've only been asleep for 4 hours by 8am. Funny thing, I got a call from Blockbuster today. I thought maybe there was a problem with my credit card or my account. It turns out they were asking if I could come in for an interview. Happily, I informed him that I had just taken a job elsewhere. Even though I didn't need it, it's nice to know that they actually might have been interested in hiring me.

Last Friday I went in at 10am to sign a bunch of paperwork, non-disclosure agreements, etc. I also got my key to the office and alarm code. I also got 5 shirts to wear when I'm at work. This was some good thinking by the boss- geeks never know what to wear. Now I don't have to go buy a bunch of work shirts, woohoo! Also, found out that I would be getting a company cell phone and possibly a laptop. I really hadn't expected this, but was really excited. I have a real job! Enough babbling. Time to finish my book, Deception Point.

Yeah, good think blockbuster will hire you. You now have what's called job security.
