I got a job!
and some kickass headphones
Last night I emailed the company that I interviewed for a few weeks ago, Computer Network Services. This morning shortly after I woke up I got a call from on of the employees. I smiled as he told me that they were interested in me working for them and he'd like to know when I could start. Now that is a great way to start the day.
Kevin decided he was finally fed up with his computer, so he used his money from working an bought a sweet new eMachines laptop. The thing is about twice as fast as my PC, and it was only like $1200 bucks. Now that I have a job it's time for me to get some new computing power. Fortunately, since Kevin no longer has use for it, he's selling me his Radeon 9600 video card for cheap, which will at least allow me to play Doom3 and Half-Life 2.
To treat myself to something after getting a job, I spent 30 bucks while we were at Best Buy to get a pair of headphones. They're Aiwa HP-X223's, are super comfortable, and they sound so good. Matt has a pair and was telling me about them. The cord is 10 feet long too, so I can lay on my bed and have them plugged into my PC, which is pretty awesome. I'm listening to my music and already hearing things I didn't even know were there before- example, "Welcome to the Fold" by Filter, at the end, he's going "doo doo doo doo doo" for a really long time in a weird muffled voice after the music fades. Go Aiwa. One thing I found out about Aiwa that I did not know, apparantely Sony owns them now. On the bottom of the headphone package I noticed a little "©2002 Sony". Turning Japanese I think we're turning Japanese... uh nevermind.
