State of the Internet in 5 years?
Some interesting forward thinking.
I found this site linked from Slashdot today, it is someone's ideas of what the internet could be like as Google continues to expand and grow. In some ways it was really cool because nothing in the article is so far off that it's impossible. Some of the things, however, are kinda crazy to think about the repercussions. Anyway, instead of sitting here reading my comments on it, click the link, read it yourself, and leave some comments.
Got GMail? Get GTray!
I found this handy little program, called GTray, that sits in your computer's system tray and checks your gmail account every number of minutes you set to see if you have mail. If you have mail, it shows a little popup and plays a sound. Also interestingly, you can check a box and have it set gmail as the default mail application. This way, if you click a "mailto" link in your browser, it will open a new gmail "Compose" window so you can send the email. Smart of Google to make it's stuff open enough that people can write handy little programs like this. It saves them the time/effort to write/support programs like this. I imagine the google toolbar will have something like this, as they like to add new things to it.
Current Music: That damned Mariokart DoubleDash theme.
