The Big Update

Finally...

OK, now for the second try- my computer froze after I had typed about the first two paragraphs.

Not keeping this updated seems to cause my life's events to pile up on that big desk in my mind. Time to clear things off. I'll try to break it up into paragraphs for you- in case you get bored you can skip to something else. On with the show...

The Program from Hell

OK, so we had like two weeks to learn the C programming language (after previously taking a year to learn Java) and our teacher assigns us this program to make an "animal guessing game" that asks you yes/no questions to try to find out what animal you're thinking of. If you really care how it works, ask me and I'll tell you, but suffice to say it wasn't the easiest program to make.

The big problem here was not so much the program as the due date. It was due October 7th by midnight. That's right, my 21st birthday. Jen came early on Wednesday to surprise me, and I had to spend all of Wednesday and Thursday nights working on this stupid program. I had tried to start earlier, but kept getting hopelessly stuck. Fortunately our teacher allows us to have 3 "late days" where we get a 24 hour extension on our assignment. I decide to take a late day because there was no way I could finish by midnight. I went to bed worn out and frustrated- not cool for my birthday night. The next day I talked to my friend and found out this one part I was trying to do with like 25 lines of code could be done in like 6. Damn. Fortunately, after talking to him about how to approach some of the parts of the program, I was able to come home and be done by 7pm on Friday. Then it was time to get drunk.

And Then I was Drunk...

Very drunk. I remember up until we were downstairs in our garage, then I remember throwing up, then I remember waking up in bed. It was a good (ok, maybe bad, but still felt good) release of stress and tension that had been building all week.

Good Morning, Hangover.

I woke up thirsty and a little disoriented. About 3 seconds later, I felt sick. After throwing up some yellow stuff I went and ate some Cheerios and milk. I certainly didn't feel Cheery when the headache hit me. It lasted me through about dinner that night. After eating the Cheerios I felt sick again, so I took some Pepto Bismol (Thanks Aunt Sue!!!) and went back to sleep for a while.

Before long people started arriving for the party that night. Lots of people ended up coming, here is the list of everyone who came to our house at some point or another:
  1. Jen Schultz
  2. Chris Reichow
  3. Jen Yum
  4. Tiffany (Yum's roommate)
  5. Jenny
  6. Nicole
  7. Caroline (Nicole's friend)
  8. Ashley
  9. Karl
  10. Justin
  11. Chris Tsafos
  12. Gumaro
  13. Marcos
  14. Sarah
  15. Rob
  16. Nav
  17. Duane
  18. Danny
  19. Ben (Matt's friend from work)
  20. Annie (Chris' friend(?) from work)
  21. A couple other random chicks (Annie's roommates?)
Added to the four guys that live here, that's like over 20 people that were here to see me. I took lots of pictures (about 90, if I remember correctly) and got a lot of use of my new camera. I didn't drink all that much Saturday night, just got a little buzzed, as I wanted to remember my party and not spend the whole time throwing up. Ask me on aim if you want photos, I'd rather not waste all our server space putting them here.

Jen is almost done with Palomar!

As of tomorrow, Jen will not be having to go to Palomar for classes. She will still have 3 online classes, but at least she won't have to drive so much for school and she will be able to stay in SLO longer =)

My dad got a job!

He was on a contract job before, but that started to run thin. Fortunately he's now working full time at a permanent position. Go Dad!

Matt = Drunkard?

Ever since he turned 21 he likes to drink it seems. Nothing wrong with that of course, but over the last few weeks I have seen Matt drink more than I ever have before. I think the pinnacle was when he suggested we have Flaming Dr. Peppers before dinner the other night. Note: I am drinking Bailey's as I write this. Oh well- as Matt would say "Might as well".

Senior Project?

Have an idea for a senior project that could kick some serious ass. However, at the moment, I'm gonna keep a little quiet on it until I figure things out a little bit and make sure nobody jacks it.

Current Music: Red Hot Chili Peppers
Link of the Day: Awesome video
