SOS Pads
I have never been so impressed with a cleaning supply.
OK, so I have these "air-bake" cookie sheets that work really well and pretty much will not burn anything no matter how long you leave things in the oven. They are pretty cool, but somehow last year, after having various 99 cent pizzas baked on them, they acquired a sticky, brown coating of something that was really nasty. It wasn't quite fully baked on, so you sort of had to cook your food on the clean part of the sheet. Anyway, I had tried like hell to get it off using conventional means (soap, water, scrubbers, etc.) Yesterday, I found a box of S.O.S. pads that I guess my mom left with us. I had thought they were just like the little plastic scrubbers, but boy was I wrong. After like 10 minutes of scrubbing each sheet, they are now completely clean. I can actually see myself in them, they are so shiny. gg SOS.
Ella never ceases to amaze.
She seems to like to redecorate her cage. Normally she moves her little wooden house around a little bit, but this last week she actually moved her huge wheel about 8 inches and turned it 90 degrees so it's up against one of the ramps between levels. She's getting really fast at going up and down the stairs and around the room, but she still hasn't figured out how to run on her wheel. Oh well, apparantely she's getting some excercise pushing it around her cage.

Update?
They updated Blogger!
I decided it had been quite a while since I had updated my blog, so I opened up the good ole blogger site. Once I started to write this post, what did I find? I sweet new system that makes it so I don't have to write the HTML code for everything like bold, centered, pictures, etc. My "New Post" page looks a little like Word, which is scary, but awesome. Good job google. Speaking of google, gmail is still kickin ass. Orkut too. Yeah.
We shall call her "Ella"
We finally named our chinchilla. We would have named her "Henry", after the street we live on, but she is a girl, and we live on the corner of Henry Street and Ella Street, so we figured "Ella" would work. She is getting much more friendly now, and she really likes to run up and down the stairs. She is still kinda scared when lots of people come downstairs or when there are loud noises, but she is getting better.
The madness is back: Counter-Strike!
The other day I decided it would be fun to play some CS for old times' sake. In order to do so I had to download the new program called "Steam" which auto-updates Half-Life and Counter-Strike and keeps the lists of internet servers, etc. Overall it is very cool but I found out that I am pretty crappy at CS now.
I am so boring
My brother is visiting this week and I hope he's having a good time. We've kinda been just sitting around and doing stuff we have to get done all week. I guess he isn't too bored because he called my mom today and asked if he could stay an extra day (til friday).
In other news
Jen is so awesome. I wish I could describe how great it feels to go to sleep every night with her in my arms, not worrying that she has to leave the next day, then waking up to see she's still right next to me. I have never slept better in my life.

Chinchilla!
What a cool pet.
After much talk about it, Jen I finally got a Chinchilla yesterday. We had gotten this kick-ass cage with four stories for like 40 bucks, when most that big are like $200. We went to Petco yesterday and started getting the stuff we needed, like food, a little house for it to sleep in, etc. The chinchillas they have at Petco always seem to just stay huddled in their little house and never come out, so we decided to look for a breeder in the area.
We drove to Arroyo Grande, since I had see a small petstore that I thought might have them. They did! These ones were much more active than the ones at Petco, and they were also $40 cheaper (Petco wanted $160!). Anyway, we got her home and put her in the cage, and there she sat. She seemed pretty scared from all this sudden change, but she is getting used to her new home, so hopefully in a couple days she will be used to us enough that we can take her out of the cage and play with her. At first we thought something was wrong with her because sometimes she would just sit really still and it seemed like she didn't even see us when we put our hand in the cage, but after researching we found out that chinchillas can sleep with their eyes open. How kick ass is that? Although hopefully soon she will start sleeping normally once she gets used to her new home.
She still needs a name... any suggestions? Leave a comment!
Why chinchillas are awesome:
1. They can jump 3 to 3.5 feet in the air
2. They are FAST
3. Their fur is really soft
4. They can sleep with their eyes open
5. They don't bite
